Back on the Munro Trail, at about 2.3 miles, you come to the spectacular Maunelei Gulch Lookout. On a clear day, the view looking down through Maunelei Gulch, with the island of Moloka'i in the distance, is truly awe inspiring. A note here... it is best to start the Munro Trail hike early in the morning. Clouds and mist often obscure this view later in the day. This photo was taken at about 9 am. Just a short walk from this point and you will see the "deer fence" that surrounds the upper part of the mountain. This fence was put up to try and keep Axis Deer from destroying the delicate vegetation on the mountain. 7gulo Share                      Hawaii Time!
